Santa Ponsa is approximately 40 minutes drive away from the airport and about three miles (5km) south of Magalluf on the south west coast. As with most Mallorcan resorts, Santa Ponsa is highly developed and tends to be lively and busy, with an active nightlife and excellent beaches. Santa Ponsa is the main beach; however there are two smaller sheltered beaches in the resort. The water at all three beaches is warm and clear, and offers safe swimming. A pedestrian promenade runs in front of the Santa Ponsa beach and there are the usual beachfront restaurants, bars, shops and cafés.
Over the years, Santa Ponsa has developed a Celtic flavour, with a number of Scottish and Irish themed pubs and bars, but it remains popular with a range of visitors of different ages. It is a great resort for families due to its safe beaches and many bars and restaurants catering for families.
Shopping: Santa Ponsa has a number of supermarkets and a good choice of souvenir shops, stalls, and jewellery stores as well as the large supermarket Eroski which sells international brands as well as baby food and nappies.
Restaurants: There are a large number of different restaurants in Santa Ponsa, offering local cuisine, British restaurants with kid’s menus, Indian, Chinese, Italian and even a McDonald’s.
Nightlife: There is a varied nightlife at the resort, with karaoke bars, theme pubs and live music venues. Of an evening many families stroll down to the main beach where there are craft stalls, hair braiding, trampolines, and kid’s rides or to the Irish square to see live entertainment.
Restaurants: There are a large number of different restaurants in Santa Ponsa, offering local cuisine, British restaurants with kid’s menus, Indian, Chinese, Italian and even a McDonald’s.

Activities: Santa Ponsa has tennis courts, water sports and sports grounds for skateboarding and football. There is a regular bus service to the neighbouring towns and resorts. There are also regular boat trips along the coastline.
